We All Have Our Flaws

The ego lives through comparison. How you are seen by others is often how you see yourself.
When I criticise or condemn another it makes me feel bigger, more superior. These are egoic patterns that are often hard to break. Most of the time, the things that bother us about other people are actually reflections of your our internal issues, which is why they are so apparent to us. At times when you find yourself criticising others, ask, “what is it in me that needs to change?”
First we must become aware of these mental processes, and then we slowly drop them.

The Source of Consciousness – Deepak vs Dawkins

The source of consciousness is a an extremely contested topic in the field of science. In this video Dawkins, an outspoken atheist, and Deepak Chopra, a popular spiritualist go head to head to discuss this issue.  This is an excerpt from the debate.

The conscious universe is something which is impossible to prove via the scientific method, thus it is a concept that scientists such as Dawkins find very difficult to swallow. The problem stems mostly from our definition of consciousness. Continue reading The Source of Consciousness – Deepak vs Dawkins

The Consciousness of Success

This video makes so many great points. I especially enjoyed how they point out that many of us living in the Western world , are living under the notion that we are in a meritocracy. Thus if you are not deemed ‘successful’ (in a material sense) you have little worth as a human being. Our society tells us we can have everything, and that things are fair. But I never really grasped the spiritual profundity of his work until recently, I came across a very interesting piece of literature, “A History of Muslim Philosophy” by M.M Sharif. It made me realise that his position in history goes far beyond that of a poet, and far beyond a theologan as well. He served as a beacon of light, to enlighten the path for those are lucky enough to come across his work. Continue reading The Evolutionary Consciousness of Rumi

10 Signs that you may be an old soul

10 Signs that you are an-3

1) Older souls often perceive themselves as part of a much greater whole. They see the deep interrelatedness between mind  and matter, as well as the unity existing between people. Everything is significant and meaningful. Seeing the bigger picture they often ask “What is my purpose in the greater scheme of things?”

2) They tend to be very easy going. Knowing the uselessness  of the preoccuptations that torment the younger souls, older souls tend to avoid getting caught in the drama of life. Though they face hardships like everyone else, the tend to let things slide and tend to act less from their ego. They do not like to spend much time doing things they don’t want to do, or things that don’t have meaning or bring them joy.

A Video Story – Existential Laws and Technological Evolution

1. The Principle of Cause and Effect

Every Cause has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause; everything happens according to Law; Chance is but a name for Law not recognized; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the Law.

Born from the ego, the liberator and enslaver. The wellspring of knowledge yet simultaneously the veil that confines us to an illusory world.
